5 Halloween Crafts to Enjoy with The Little Ones

Published on 15th October 2021

Get your little monsters excited for the big day by exercising creepy creativity while enjoying some family bonding time. Whether you’re creating a showstopping Halloween entrance to entice trick or treaters, crafting wicked pumpkin designs, or trying out new DIY Halloween décor, we’ve brought you fab-boo-lous fun ideas to get hands-on this spooky season!

The best part is that it doesn't take too much effort to recreate these crafts. Just head to your local craft store to grab your supplies and then get those eerie-sistible final touches from Marshes!

Vampire Bat Leaves

There’s nothing better than getting crafty with what is already around us. On your next family walk lift a pile of autumnal leaves to dry out at home. Carefully paint them black and after drying, use a white marker to make little vampire faces.

Skeleton Face Stones

To make, paint a few large stones white and leave to dry. You can use black marker to add spooky skeleton faces and detailing. Go the extra mile by carefully adding colourful  sparkles and paper cut out flowers to recreate a scene from the Day of The Dead.

Kitten Pumpkins

Start by marking a circle around the top of the large pumpkin and cut it off using a carving knife, remove all pulp and seeds from the inside with a large metal spoon. Paint your  pumpkins with 2 coats of black paint and wit until completely dry . Add rhinestones for eyes, embroidery thread whiskers and pom pom noses with hot glue. Cut out cat ears from black paper and glue each to a toothpick. Stick your toothpicks into the top of the pumpkins.

Toilet Roll Characters

A crafty Halloween project that couldn't be easier. Upcycle your toilet paper rolls and add paint, colorful paper, googly eyes, and other details to give your Halloween characters buckets of deadly personality. You can design pumpkins, mummies, Frankenstein monsters, witches or even vampires.

Potato Stamp Ghosts

Cut off the bottom part of a potato to make a flat edge, then slice the potato to create a stamp. Dip in white paint and press your ghost-shaped stamp onto black paper. Little fingerprints coated in in black paint make the perfect tools to add on the ghosts’ eyes and mouths. Get experimental and use little hands to make new shapes on top of your ghosts!

Happy creepy crafting!
