Marshes Shopping Centre is providing local shoppers with a practical way to help as the humanitarian crisis unfolds in Ukraine, and along its borders.
Almost three million people have been forced to flee Ukraine in recent weeks and to help, Marshes has launched an emergency appeal for items to assist those in need.
Marshes wants to practically assist families and children caught in the conflict by collecting items to keep them safe, warm and fed.
It has set-up a designated drop-off point adjacent to the Centre’s Customer Information Desk where items can be donated to its Ukraine emergency appeal.
Dry and canned foods, non-perishable cooking supplies, hygiene kits including soap, sanitary products, baby wipes and nappies, blankets and first aid kits, warm clean clothes, batteries and torches will all be accepted.
“Those looking for a practical way to help as the humanitarian crisis unfolds in Ukraine are welcome to drop items at Marshes,” said centre manager, Sean Farrell.
“From donating dry foods, to hygiene supplies to clothes and torches and batteries, our shoppers can help families and children caught in the conflict.
“Marshes shoppers have never been slow provide assistance to those in need through appeals organised at the centre.
“Once again, with their support, we will be happy to play our part in helping at a time of crisis and will ensure all donations get to those who need them.”
