Meal Inspiration: 5 Delicious Options to Enjoy this Father’s Day

Published on 17th June 2021

With Father's Day closing in at a rapid pace (it's this Sunday!), now's the time to cross the t's and dot the i's - pick up the perfect Father's Day gift, write a heartfelt card and spoil dad rotten. Our favourite way to spend the day? Creating some almighty feasts for dad to enjoy. If you're not sure what to whip up, today we're sharing some tasty meal inspiration: 5 delicious options to enjoy this Father's Day.

A Full Irish Breakfast

Because breakfast is the most important meal of the day, are we right? There's nothing quite like a night of restful sleep, a lie-in on a Sunday morning and a hearty breakfast/brunch to top it all off. We call 'em the holy trinity around these parts! Don't forget to include the tasty essentials: sausages, bacon and of course, hash browns! There's so many ways to enjoy eggs too; fried, poached, hard-boiled, scrambled... If it's wrong to have 'em all, we don't want to be right! If you're new to making a full Irish breakfast, click the link for a handy recipe.

A Classic Steak Dinner

Was it just us, or did your mouth start watering when you saw this photo too? A juicy steak is not only a reliable fallback but an incredibly delicious dinner option for special days like these. There are a variety of ways to enjoy a steak, from blue right through to well done, and lots of tasty sides to pair it with. We take ours with fries on the side, and don't skip on the pepper sauce! A Sunday Roast

Does anyone else get super excited when they know that a full roast dinner is on the cards? We're not ashamed to admit that it makes our whole week! We're of the belief that Christmas dinner is the nicest meal of the whole year. And better yet, seconds and thirds are justified and encouraged! Packed with flavour and variety, you can never go wrong with a Sunday roast. If the plate's not piled high and swimming in tasty gravy, you're not doing it justice. Tempted to tackle a Sunday roast this weekend? Click the link for the recipe!

Pulled Pork

A fresh take on a classic favourite, pulled pork has become a firm favourite in recent years. Top tip: cook it on low for the day in a slow cooker, it will be falling apart and melt-in-your-mouth delicious when dinner time rolls around! There are lots of ways to enjoy pulled pork, but our personal favourite is with plenty of bbq sauce. Be warned though... The single downside to this tasty option: the mess! For our vegan/vegetarian friends out there, you can achieve similar results by slow cooking jackfruit! Who would've thought? Click the link for our go-to bbq pulled pork recipe.

A Weekend BBQ Feast

BBQ's are what summer's all about! Whether it's burgers n' hot dogs, a juicy steak, chicken and veg skewers or tasty sides, a BBQ in the sun is the ideal way to celebrate Father's Day. Especially with a few beers on the go! Click the link for all of our go-to bbq essential recipes. We recommend Saturday for yours - the weather forecast for Sunday isn't looking so hot, unfortunately... Get the brollies ready, folks!

Until next time,
