Knit and Tuck
Guest Blog from Rebecca McKinney – Marshes Personal Stylist
Chunky, cosy, fine, frayed, fitted, oversized, distressed, aran – all types of knitwear that we know and love! But which one will be your favourite as the Irish weather begins to get a little chillier?
The best thing is that knitwear never ever goes out of style and if you’re a practical kind of guy, then this type of trend will be your favourite to shop. Not only will the jumpers of the season keep you warm, but you’ll be bang on trend while shopping at Marshes.
Kit out your knitwear line-up with traditional pieces that look great worn over a classic shirt collar. Maybe this season try a slightly bolder colour? Jack and Jones have a gorgeous burgundy knit, that adds some instant Autumn into your look.
If chunkier is your vibe, I love River Island’s cable knit jumper with an injection of mustard – the colour of the season. For a bargain mustard knit, it would be hard to beat H&M for value or style!
The humble stripe has filtered through from summer time and Diesel have some great, bold knits with a brightly coloured stripe through the weave. Wear with your favourite skinny jeans and a cool trainer.
A cardigan doesn’t have to be exclusively for Grandad’s anymore and this Autumn, they’ve taken a sexy turn. We love the Dunnes grey shawl cardigan that can be styled with chinos and a brown Chelsea boot. For a finer version, River Island have brought their ‘muscle fit’ into the cardigan zone, with their fine knit, two tone grey version.
Rock a jumper this month and look hot as it gets cold!
